So I'm going to law school this fall.

In preparation, I've rented and watched "Paper Chase." The next phase is to finally get around to mastering the Harry Lorayne/Jerry Lucas memory system. To do this I need practice. Random lists of numbers are no problem, but flipping through a paperpack dictinoary just isn't doing the job for words.

Is there a way to rig MS word to spit out random words? Or can someone suggest a good (preferably freeware) computer program or electric handheld dictionary or something similar? The most important thing is a huge vocabulary.

I'm not sure why you need a huge word list for that course's exercises, but I did Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory program in the mid 90's, so I can kinda guess, and I'm curious why you don't combine your memory practice with the learning of a second language?
While I'm sure Kevin Trudeau would be impressed, I'm a bit pissed off that all these years later I can still remember pointless stories about purple pennies, hand drills, and frightened gorillas as a result of his training rather than something practical or interesting. Think carefully before permanently lodging random lists of stupid shit in your head.

1. Tree
2. Lightswitch
3. Stool
4. Car
5. ...
6. Gun
7. Dice
8. ...
9. Cat
10. Bowling
11. Goalpost
12. Eggs
13. Witch
14. Smokes?
15. ...
16. Chocolate
17. Magazine
18. ...
19. ...
20. ...

That shit came out of nowhere after more than a decade's neglect and is still 70% complete. My head is full of similar lists - stuff that couldn't even pass as trivia. It's regrettable.

Also, what law school are you attending and why?
