Some things are wrong with that... by Raven 05/23/2006, 5:27pm PDT
Ok, I'm not a player of Baldur's Gate, or BG2, but I am an avid player of Star Wars. And during my whole playing experience, never have I made a connection with Star Wars to Baldur's Gate. For one, to be a direct ripoff, it would have to be set in the future. It most definitely is not.

Two: I don't see any men in white armor using staff's that cast fire bolt.

Three: In Star Wars, C-3PO did not do any fighting, he was there solely as comic relief. Does the character you portray as him fight? He looks like he just might.

Four: Yoda didn't make any weapons for Luke, merely trained him in the Jedi ways of the Force, telekinesis, and learning that compared to the Force, "size matters not". Luke's first lightsaber was given to him, and then he later built his own.

In summary, there is no real evidence that Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 are ripoffs of Star Wars. Maybe some coincedences, but that's it. No real evidence there buddy.
