I thought I had! I don't know, I must have been cranked up for some other reason, or maybe I was thinking of Event Horizon or something.

And if you asked me to name a better horror movie period than The Thing, I'd have to think long and hard.


I can think of several but I would be comfortable with it in my top 15.

In the Mouth of Madness seemed to do everything Prince of Darnkess was aiming for but with a better budget, writing, acting, and success.


That's a fun movie but I don't know if I'd call it scary. It has the unfortunate Stephen King Movie* effect of finally revealing the boogeyman and having the boogeyman look dorky. In the case of In The Mouth Of Madness the Lovecraftian Old Ones seem to be blood relations of The Engineer from Hellraiser, which was a giant rubber sock puppet. Up until that part it's pretty cool but after that you just have to laugh at it, which is cool too I guess.

*I know it's not a Stephen King Movie, but this typically happens in Stephen King Movies
