| This is one of those HILARIOUS parody movies where they have parody scenes of other comedies, and the "parody" is the same joke in the movie they are supposedly making a parody of. Such as in Meet the Parents where the dad is like I HAVE NIPPLES, CAN YOU MILK ME? But then this PARODY!!!!!! version has the dad (Eddie Griffin, slumming it even compared to being in Scary Movie 2) lifts his shirt and shows he has 6 nipples. That actually sounds funnier than it is in the movie. Also the cat using the toilet, except it's a full 2 minute scene of weird borderline scat fetish "jokes" (the writer may have not been laughing so much from his scene because he was beating off to it, like most anime writers because after all they don't put an hour long rape scene in because it's relevant to the plot or anything).
Most of the rest of the jokes in the movie are the kind of thing where a fat chick does a crazy dance and people are like HUH??????? MY MONOCLE! Or a cameo of a Napoleon Dynamite impersonator saying GOSH which somehow sounds funnier than it really is because the scene is like LOOK IT'S A NAPOLEON DYNAMITE PARODY AHAHAHA (PUT IT ON THE COVER SO NAPOLEON DYNAMITE FANS WILL RENT THIS SHIT). Apparently the people responsible for this movie just know the right people and were owed a favor, or could do it for so cheap that there was no way they couldn't make a profit for the studio. The movie is so bad that Lil Jon is credited almost at the top in the beginning of the movie, and he's only in it for 5 seconds saying yeah what and okay (and he seems to be phoning it in). I assume this was done by the same Not Another Teen Movie people, and the people from Scary Movie who were so unfunny they weren't allowed to write for Scary Movie 3. Even at Scary Movie 2's lowest level of unfunny career-destroying indignity, it didn't reach the height of Date Movie. THAT'S PRETTY BAD ~_~ I was disappointed to see that the redhead band camp chick from American Pie, who plays the lead in Date Movie, wasn't hosed with sperm or had her clothes torn off in some way. If they're going to make movies, even comedies, about strong female characters, they should have them be nude a lot too, like in Italian movies. |
