What's wrong with Star Wars fan art? An expert explains. by Jerry Whorebach 12/11/2006, 6:49am PST
These are all from JuPiter Station, a website dedicated to the rediculously specific fetish of Captain Janeway and Seaman Tom from Voyager "bridging the generation gap" if you know what I mean. And if you don't here's a less-clever but more descriptive version of that metaphor: "bridging the gap between his hot young locomotive and her dusty old abandoned railway tunnel." There's a lot more to it than that, mostly involving the ghost of a feverish prospector who still walks her line mournfully hoisting his phantasmic lantern that, while spooky and most definitely HOT, actually added more confusion than it cleared up.

Janeway is too pixelated and Tom is too washed-out. The little wall they're standing around makes them look like Muppets.

Their heads are too big.

Janeway is semi-transparent. Tom is standing in what looks like a cave instead of a spaceship.

More transparency problems. I especially shouldn't be able to see Tom's spine.

Both Janeway and Tom appear to be lit from the front. This is impossible unless it's exactly noon.

Tom's uniform should be red, not mauve. Janeway's head shouldn't just float around like that.

The Voyager is much too small. The baby is too large and is clearly wearing a bad wig.

There is only one sentence, and there is a typo in it. Janeway and Tom are in the Star Trek, not the army. By the 24th century, War is an antiquated notion. Yellow ropes are NOT gold braids.

Those are very obviously not the hats they were originally wearing.

Something is wrong with her ear.

Well, the first thing that's wrong with it is that it's Star Trek fan art. NT by Gene Twigandberries 12/11/2006, 11:27am PST NEW
