By the way if you thought Steam sucked when it started! by Jhoh Cable o_O 01/15/2007, 10:13pm PST For some reason I was signed up for the very very original alpha or whatever the fuck (I think I still have the invite mail for it in Yahoo, addressed from "Mona Lisa" Guthrie). It would "play" 4 games that I already had, which was HL1, Counter Strike (just Counter Strike, not even 1.6 yet) and TFC and maybe some other thing whatever the fuck who cares. And it was just that window with the 4 buttons on it. So I tried CS on it, and it opens it and starts connecting to the server............ AND THEN starts to download the CS game content. From the server possibly, I'm not even sure. I think it disconnected at some point. Later on a retry, it started downloading all the same shit over again. I thought that this was supposed to be some kind of program that would make you download a full game to play it, and then clear it all off when you were done so you had to do it all over again. I thought, THIS CAN'T BE THE FUTURE OF GAMING CAN IT? And then Steam got better, although pretty buggy and unstable, and then it got more better but was still kind of iffy and not totally necessary, and then HL2 came out and Steam got even better, and then by the time episode 1 came out Steam is fully functional and going along fine with some kind of supposed possible revolution in game bloo blee bloo stuffs.
