However, this revelation does seem to put all PKD's bunk about "taking down Nixon" with the help of VALIS to be exceptionally duplicit. I imagine he could hold simultaneous contradictory beliefs quite easily.
Dick was deeply distrustful of anyone with strong political motivations. Even as early as 1957 he was writing stories about dehumanized extremists on both the left and right. |
