The funny part isn't Stallone, it's Themerson.

The book is indeed about a struggle. It occurs to me that I should have included these links before.

The joke is that Themerson made up a shallow-sounding synopsis to go with his deep book of poetry? Or the joke is that someone else is claiming it's about Stallone? Or the joke is that Themerson is laughably poor, and a book on Stallone would be a step up from his usual writing? I couldn't find a true synopsis of the book so when you say it 'is indeed about a struggle' then maybe that's another joke. Plz educate me so that when this comes up in Trivial Pursuit I don't lose my chance at the pie wedge.

Professor Mmaa’s Lecture, 1953
Stefan Themerson creates a termite world in order to bare the political, sexual, religious and scientific follies of humankind with wit, intelligence, and great gusto.
In this vivid fantasy, life in a termite colony is described in terms that we quickly identify as contemporary: we are plunged into the struggle of the individual against a stultifying social order for a few crumbs of integrity, a few simple pleasures.
Preface by Bertrand Russell, illustrated by Franciszka Themerson

The joke is that the summary is grotesquely wrong, and not intentionally, and that this kind of grotesqueness and dadaness was exactly the focus of Themerson's writing and his wife's art.

I love Gaberbocchus books. I grew up around Franciszka Themerson's art books, and the Evergreen reprinting of the Gaberbocchus Ubu Roi was the first play I ever read. In fact, I can show you a little of the Gaberbocchus genius with this online copy of their printing of Bertrand Russell's The Good Citizen's Alphabet.
