You have a lot to answer for, you bastard! Take the bag off your head and explain how your team could possibly suck this badly. Did Aaron Brooks really fumble at his O-lineman for a 23 yard loss? What the shit? THAT IS A FUCK.
The Saints just don't lose, they lose in a way where their fans are humilated for even considering following them.
On the play in question, our offensive line broke down for the nth time and left tackle Wayne Gandy allowed the Chargers defensive end he was matched up against to get to his quarterback. Nothing out of the ordinary there! QB Aaron Brooks was spun round, and saw Gandy suddenly in front of him. Brooks passes! To an offensive lineman (who, by the way, plays fucking LEFT tackle, not BEHIND THE QUARTERBACK tackle).
Gandy couldn't catch a cold if he fell into a Chuck E. Cheese ball crawl after the Snotterson's 8th birthday party for their first son, Booger - much less a football. He reacts as if Brooks had lobbed a lit bomb at him. The football goes about 20 yards behind everyone until Deuce McAllister scoops it up because, hey, backwards pass = live ball and you might not want to let it become a turnover.
The play looked even worse than described.
So thanks, Brooks. This is the shit with up which we must put. Plummer had a silly throw but Christ, at least it was forward.
Meanwhile, here in Denver, fans can't wait for Plummer to fail. The can't WAIT! Two minutes or so into the Texans game, nothing much has happened, Jake sees a defense he doesn't like and calls a time out. Boos cascade down on him! I couldn' t believe it. Denver fans have really become fair-weather friends. If the game looks bad, they leave early. And if the game looks, good, they leave early then too. Whatever, good riddance. Jeeze, we're only 6-3. Time to fire the entire team I guess.
Booing the timeout call is one of the things I love about groupthink. Although the worst timeout I ever saw was on the road. To open the 2001 season, the Saints played the Bills in Orchard Park. On the first possession for the Saints, for the first play on the first drive... Brooks calls time out. He had the ENTIRE OFF-SEASON to think about what he wanted to do out there. You'd think they could come up with Plan B for Aaron Schobel twitching or something.
