Ok, I wasn't going to do this, but I am sick of this shit.

I would like to address Bill_Dungsroman and Lizard_King for a moment and say something. You can reply if you like, but I have no intention of getting drawn into this mutual public disdain-fest other than this post.

You have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. Your suppositions are inherently flawed.

You have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. Your suppositions are inherently flawed. However, I fear that it is only Bill_Dungsroman who is aware of his flawed, suppository, expositionism. I could be mistaken, but then again, I actually know Bill_Dungsroman, whereas I do not know you behind the mask of your online persona. ( This is why I am not bothering to tell him my POV concerning you here, I can just state my opinion to his face. )

Allow me to elaborate. There are three primary modes of attack I have observed between the two of you: Personal (mental-intellectual back-and-forth bullshit). Historical (background knowledge) and Occupational (current and past). I would like to address these.

This is how it always seems to go, in some endless circle that begins and ends with Bill_D in medical school thus: You appear to draw a conclusion Bill_D cannot possibly keep up with you mentally because he withdrew from medical school, whereas you are...in the Marine Corps. Then you attempt to actually have an argument with him, where you subreference everything he's said ever, no matter how irrelevant to the current topic. Then, Bill_D, bewildered as to WHY you bother to bring up such irrelevant claptrap, tries to re-address the orginal topic, usually failing miserably by getting sidetracked in all your mutual buttfuckery. Then, it all usually ends up degenerating into mutual name-calling, capped off with a dig about him "failing" medical school.

Ok. That's nice and all, but this is really, really -- really-REALLY getting old and boring. It's not that it needs to be taken to PMs, but honestly, this content, not original. Therefore, I would like to shed some light so that you two can either start actually having some meaningful dialogue and get away from the inanity of sameness, or, perhaps, you could just stop talking to eachother.

1. Personal: You could very well be smarter than Bill_Dungsroman. I know plenty of people who are, one of whom is his best friend and cohort from medical school. This is not at issue. What seems to be at issue is you seem to think, because of your supposition that Bill_D has FAILED medical school, he must be stoooopid, and therefore this point must be brought up again and again as proof positive. Now, I know Bill_D well enough to know he is not going to trot out the truth of the matter and defend himself to you; this is, after all, the Internets.
But I will.

2. Historical: Bill_D went to three years of medical school, worked hard, busted his ass, had no help from anybody, worked night jobs to pay for mere survival, got in because of undergraduate brilliance and was the only white male in his class to be accepted, stood and delivered, shot the ball out of the park, blah blah, etc. etc., the whole sob story he's not going to parade out to you. Then, it happened, his personal epiphany.

3. Ocupational: Yes, he realized what he was going to do about it. Med school was not for him. He did not want to be a Doctor. Medical field, yes; Doctor, no. Did he fail? No. Was he an incompetent dumbass at the bottom of his class? The very opposite. Did I mention the standing ovation of all his classmates when he said goodbye? They all still respect him. Doctors all. Of course, with your "vast knowledge" of Bill_D, from his self-loathing confabulatory spin on it in Caltrops and other forums, you have a different angle. Your angle is skewed, my friend, but it's not entirely your fault. I'm giving you now the added power of background knowledge to assist your perspective.

As for your occupation, I have some personal perspective. Working at the US Embassy last year as I did, I garnered a great deal of respect for the Marine Guards at Post One. They were great fun to hang out with, nice fellas, and they threw fantastic beer n' burger parties. To that end, Bill_D admittedly has no in-depth knowledge of Marines, other than his abiding respect for those in the military who have served our country in their capacity. So, with all due deference, please understand, that capacity is usually not considered to be, nor is in most people's experience, intellectual. It's easy to make fun. Perhaps you could enlighten us then, as to how you feel you have made your own intellectual mark in the world.

As stated above, Bill_D can directly hear from me what I think about you. It is limited by the fact that I do not know you, so it is brief. In that, you have an advantage, because you now have facts beyond mere persona; what you choose to do with them is up to you.
