I didn't find co-op Hardcore too bad actually, until the cave network at the end, when you have to split up and then the first encounters with the badass torque bow locusts, it then gets a bit easier till you have to escape to the APC thing and that's when it's shit hard again.
After that it's not that tough co-op and just like the easier mode the final boss either goes down in no time or melts your face off.
Not tried INSAAAAANE or whatever it is yet.
