This was also my first ever session of 10/20. I'd shown down some trash hands after being aggressive preflop. The big blind was playing big pots with any two cards and getting lucky all over the place.
Blinds are $10 and $20, the game is 6-handed. I start the hand with $2616.50, bb has over 11k. The other 4 players have less. I am dealt red aces and am second to act. First player folds, I raise to $70, someone folds, someone calls, next guy folds, BB raises to $290, I think a while and repot to $1020, guy in the middle folds, BB pushes, I call my last 1600 and am all in.
BB shows black QQ and I am 80% favorite to win.
Flop 7 6 J, turn 9, river 6. Final pot $5453.
______________
For the sake of symmetry, I'll also post my biggest loss. Also at $10/20, it's 4-handed and I cover everyone at the table with $3300. Opponent has $2440. I'm dealt KQ diamonds, first to act and raise to $70. Folded to the BB who calls.
Flop 9h Qh 3c. Top pair for me. He checks, I make a pot-sized bet of $150 and he calls.
Turn Kc. This gives me top 2 pair, but makes a straight for JT and opens a second flush draw. He checks, I bet $320 (or about 2/3 pot), figuring that the board is too dangerous for him to slowplay a made straight and intending to fold to a checkraise. He just calls.
River 8c and he instantly pushes $1900 into a pot of about $1100. My immediate thought was that I had to fold, but I managed to talk myself into a terrible call using the logic of "my turn bet looked weak and therefore he is just attacking with a weak hand because he knows I'm weak myself." He shows QJ clubs for the runner-runner flush, gg me. Final pot $4892.
