It sucks, but it's not the end of the world. Starting early at home like that is sort of a reward for the team that won the Super Bowl - the home team for the Thursday night thing always seems to win (unless their QB got his brains scrambled in a motorcycle accident in the off-season). It's distressing to see the offense not get six, but the Saints should be able to get the kinks out in the next couple of games. Horrible way to start the season, but there is too much talent to not play better.
The one part that bugged me was when (Sean) Payton ordered up a punt on 4th and 1 fairly late in the game. I thought he was made of better stuff than that. Plus, it sickens me that someone pays Gregg Easterbrook for the same goddamn column every week and you just knew when Payton ordered that call that he was Cntl-Cing, Cntl-Ving his way to another unreadable column. Just once I'd like to watch a game where the head coach decides to punt, gets the ball back, and then leads his team to a victory down 14 points with less than 10 to go. Not because I am a fan of drama, but because I hate lazy sportswriting.
