Initially meeting to meet to discuss allegations of Tory election spending misconduct in the 2006 election, the committee added the veil issue to its agenda.
The Conservative Party is trying to shift the Committee on Procedure and House Affairs' focus from one of its weaknesses (not misappropriating funds) to one of its strengths (persecuting minorities).
