I remember sitting down with the first book way back in highschool. The main character was a boy living in a village that gets attacked and burned down by an evil army of monsters, but he's rescued by traveling heroes with a mysterious past, he discovers he has a hidden power and an epic destiny...
...and then I shut the book and returned it to the library, confident that I had read this exact same story dozens of times before. |
