He had a show on CBC that ran for some fraction of one season, sort of a semi-improv Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Unfortunately it didn't work because all his improv is exactly the same, just like every other TOTALLY OFF-THE-WALL improv comedian ever (Robin Williams). The worst part was watching him do the Canadian talk show circuit, every host would ask him about his new baby and he'd have to try and impress each audience by improv-ing into some spontaneously-generated bit about (for example) driving a floating car made of melted babies to the floating Zellers made of melted babies to get some melted babies, which are ironically quite heavy :( |
