But I just got Rock Band today, and it does to Guitar Hero what GH1 did to rhythm games originally. There is simply no comparison between the two. The rumors about the guitar (unless it breaks or something) are total bullshit. I can totally see the wankers from Scorehero concerned it won't perform on Through the Fire and Flames, but it is perfectly suited to Rock Band's style. It made me stand up to play for the first time since GH1, because I felt the need to fake rock harder.
The wired peripherals are a little irritating to set up, but once you have it going...wow. Even the singing is fun. I can't believe that shit. They even made that fun, although I recommend exploring the mode by yourself first. Same for the drums, for that matter. The tutorials are excellent and thorough, the songs are inspired. Playing And Justice For All singlehandedly destroyed any chance I ever had of returning to Guitar Hero.
I can't recommend it enough. Mainly because I want to get back to it. But Fabio was right on the money (this time). |
