If you're a romantic you can read that as them wanting to cleanse themselves (and the player) of the OC. MOTB is much better, achieves much higher D&D nerdgasm, and really plays out as a better experience.
Problems: Instead of just giving your guys absurd equipment you're required to fully buffout before encounters or you'll get chewed up. They give you four members and leave the limit of followers at 3, which just feels like a fucking slap in the face. Depending on if you're good or bad you'll get a great warrior or a rogue(I didn't get him), so what class you pick is essential. The game starts you with a Magician and a Druid, so it can be a real pain starting out. Also, there is a stupid hunger bar, made no less gay by the fact that you're eating spirits(cheat).
There, I must have summed up like two hundred pages of 1/4 23 threads on the issue. |
