I was in Australia where I discovered, much too late, that they put those "severe tire damage" spikes at intersections, facing towards the traffic. There are two tire-sizes holes in the spikes to allow you to pass through unharmed, but you have to drive perfectly. Apparently this was an initiative from the Australian government to cut down on intersection swerving. Needless to say, I blew out two tires.
Later I saw Bob Barker with a Union Jack (!) painted on his face, as part of a lottery promotion where Rolls Royce was giving away a car (also painted as a Union Jack). |
