Details, are confusing. by Worm 02/12/2008, 7:27pm PST It's no DMC2, I can tell you that. However my issue seems to be that I could get a fair bit into the game game playing Nero like I used to play Dante. Dante (I am not afraid to say he is now ruggedly handsome) serves as your tutorial and is a easy first bossy fight, after that you meet Dante as a real boss and during that fight, it becomes kind of apparent that you can't play Nero like Dante anymore. That was my turning point, and now I sort of understand how Nero has to be played. Most of that may just be me getting too much influence from this formal analysis of MGS2. Mainly the game will let you plod along playing WRONG up until it forces the issue. There are some obnoxious things, Yellow Orbs are now continues. Awesome huh? Though you get a penalty for using one and if you use them too often on a boss it will handicap the boss and give you another penalty. There are some weird bionic commando things because Nero has hookshot arm, which are mostly contained in secret missions. He only gets one sword which is just annoying. Though it seems pretty good if you get used to him quick, if you don't lots of it ends up being frustrating.
