Hey, awesome. So is that why I can't play Half-Life or Half-Life 2 anymore? Because Steam updated itself -- it took two tries but it finally did it -- and now I can't play anything. The new improved Steam validated my files again and, ten minutes later, nothing works. Click on it, it'll pretend to load for a second, then die. Rebooted, no improvement.

Steam has officially, completely, failed. Can we throw it away now?
