Hard mode really is hard. :(
Upside: The sniper rifle is really cool in this game and I'm finally using skills (such as the + damage skill for the sniper rifle) to fucking vaporize enemies in clouds of green poison. LEWL.
To get the achievement (NOT THAT SUCH THINGS MATTER) for the hard difficulties you have to start a whole new dude though, so my plus game has to just sit there, and I might not even play it again because I'll be playing the higher difficulties. For my hardcore game I made some DOUCHE with blond hair and goatee and scars on his face who goes around being a dick to everyone because I also want the achievement for renegade.
The achievements usually just gives you those gamerpoints which are worthless in real LOYF, but in Mass Effect they actually made achievements give your characters buffs for your plus games. Getting 150 kills with the assault rifle, shotgun, sniper rifle or pistol unlocks the ability to let you start any new character with your choice of those weapons as a specialty. Doing most (not even all) of the side quests will let your plus game start with a bonus to experience. If you play the majority of the game with a specific character in your party (there's an achievement for each) it gives you other buffs, like health regen or extra damage protection. Also beating the game on the harder difficulties lets you actually unlock extra gamer pix, which I always thought would've been a good alternative to having to buy all of the extra ones. |
