My one complaint about this game is that pace of the level design is TOO breakneck. You'll run into cool teleporting magic samurai one screen, defeat them, then that's the last of them. You hit cool "Strider"-esque gravity reversing devices, and 1 minute later you're done with them. Later you see tough darns with giant broadswords who require dodging, kill 2 of them, then never see them again. I mean there are 3 difficulty levels and 2 unlockable characters so the obvious solution is just to play the whole game over again, but it would have been nice if the developer gave us more chances and variations to take on the interesting enemies in differing climates instead of the endless deluge of pink and blue darns.
I was only judging the game on "normal" mode, which is really "easy" mode. The more interesting nasties are present in much greater quantities in the hard and hardest levels. I was concerned that this game would be too easy based on the demo. I was wrong. |
