I liked the first one a lot. The sequel, if I had rented it, I would have turned it off in the middle. My mind hasn't wandered so much in a movie since Hulk.
The problem with it is, in the first, they had an impossible objective and they had plans to make it happen and the pleasure was in seeing interesting people do interesting things and pull it off.
In Ocean's Twelve, they apparently now all suck at crime. There is no caper, there is literally no exciting part of the film, most of it is them sitting around bitching about "Man, how are we going to get the money!?!?" and the answer is totally retarded and (minor spoiler) has almost nothing to do with their abilities as con men or thieves, it's all on other people.
The only positives are that it's kind of funny in parts and that Catherine Zeta-Jones is really, really nice to look at. I wouldn't spend your money on it. Well, I guess I would spend your money to see it, but I wouldn't recommend that you do. |
