Title tag (name of post)
Link (get to the post)
Description (in our case, the post contents)
If rss readers need other tags to make them feel good then honestly, the problem is with them. But I am aware that I am living in the real world, so I will get it to work with NewsGator. And Firefox. Mozilla, Opera, Lynx, Netscape, WWIV, Maximus, FBBS, CBBS, EBBS and a test install of bulletin board ware created by Bob Puff for an experimental Atari machine in 1983. I will do these things because, hey, someone else got it to work with those applications, and because I want the experience of the Caltrops user to be positive and also because, when I am finished, I will be able to put "xml" on my resume and actually mean it.
That being said, it's outright criminal that these guys don't put specs or an API where people can find them by typing "firefox rss api" into Google. Instead you get this which is not the same thing.
But whatever, I am learning, this is interesting, it's all good.
