It's very confusing.

Remember the simple days when you knew a unit with "flak" in its name would be good against air?

Well times have changed. Unit functions are ridiculously arbitrary and unintuitive.

See if you can follow me here:

You have over a dozen units, over half of which can travel on both land and water (which ones can is arbitrary and unintutive) and their counter/role may overlap for both land and sea so you might have to crank out a naval unit to handle some crises on land.

Every single unit in the game has an alternate firing mode (also unintuitive: a destroyer has an area shield, the carrier an EMP missile, a hydrofoil something that disables weapons) so the function you're searching for may be buried in there.

Then there's the Japanese and their transforming units. You have a robotech thing that transforms between a flying robot and a flying plane and it's hard to tell which mode it's currently in since they're both flying. The flying robot counts as a ground unit and is good against infantry while the flying jet counts as an air unit and can attack other air units. The flying robot can travel over water, but can be hit by underwater torpedoes? There is another flying unit that is good against infantry and can transform into an underwater sub at which point it becomes...anti-air?
