It happened in some game some where that I remember as a mediocre first person shooter? Great. "If they're right" I'm still not getting anything worth getting excited about in Force Unleashed, the game I'm actually talking about. Gravity gunning a star destroyer is a waste of time in the context of the game so far. For that matter, Lego SW had "dismemberment" by the ton, it was just included in a fairly broken game designed for children and people who don't play games much. Because SW fans will play anything, they played it as well, but that's not what I want. What I want is a third person action game with a mature rating on the box that deals intelligently with the "jedi dilemma" we've been describing. That's what FU should have been. Instead we get...this, plus whatever else the George Lucas List of Things You Must Comply With While I Hold The License Hostage has inflicted. I think I speak for all of us when I say I'm really looking forward to the love interest "twist". It might end up being an ok full game should the existing and upcoming backlog of excellent games run out, but still a rental at best. Let's recap: you know I'm right about how stupid the violence level is given the tools you are supposed to have and what the current generation of video games should allow them to do. Where you disagree is that you're willing to accept the same "solution" to that problem that they've been doing in SW games left and right. I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labors, as all of those years of showering George Lucas with cash for any piece of shit with the logo on it have really paid off. |
