Why would I expect that? I don't know. Probably because so many other games are doing destructible environments, interesting kill outcomes-other-than-ragdolls, and shit like that. I'm not trying to design my own star wars game so much as putting together what I'd been led to expect from this one. Turns out that once again we are headed for boring gameplay splicing together fanboy friendly cutscenes. Lucky you.
The entire world is covered in a kortosis weave i guess, that looks awful. But it had ranged weapons and intelligent tactics (surrounding you and blocking everything, pretty smart mushroom guys!) so i think we're on opposite sides again. Force pushing flower petals into people...
Surrounding you and blocking! Wow! This is some cutting edge AI that's making the game worthwhile. I like how you sneer at this kids movie before describing in detail how that same infantile garbage is going to be the only thing propelling you through this upcoming mediocre-to-bad visit from George Lucas' nutz.

I don't think it is. Call it Bioware-itis or whatever you want, but if they can't liven up or at least abbreviate generic space hallway no 21351, I'm going to be disappointed. I am every time one sci fi games come out, almost. Moreover, as the mushroom video shows, this isn't some retarded "star wars canon architecture" loyalty at work. It's just level design from another decade. I hope they throw in more of those thrilling "slow door lock force pushing puzzles" just so you can hate yourself that much more while you suffer.

Further research has turned up the last 2 SW shooters had dismemberment out of the box. My excuse is one of them never made it to the clearance bin and Academy was boring. So all this frustration is from the kotor games then? RPGs with thac0s and armor base 0 and stats not having 1 hit kills is a "curious" (retarded) complaint.

Well, that's what's important. Other than your affinity for the setting, you understand that I am exactly right in forecasting a mediocre to bad game. I was considering it when I heard all of the stuff about demolishing motherfuckers (and their motherfucking planets), temporarily forgetting my suspicion of all things Jedi. As it turns out, I'm still right in thinking that Mass Effect demonstrates that Bioware makes better games without the license, and that Tie Fighter was possibly the only interesting and well designed effort made in Star Wars videogames for non fans (and tossing aside all of that bullshit magic psi power stuff was key to that). Enjoy your future bad game! |
