I downloaded this game to my PS2 cuz I figured that paying 50 bucks for the first one earned me the sequel. Though I guess the version I downloaded had a problem in it because it wouldn't load my save game after the tenth chapter. I bought the game and copied it to the hard drive myself, after that I didn't have that issue after that.
Though it's worth noting that many of the loading times are disguised as enemy introductions, and having the game on your hard drive will let you skip those much earlier. For example in the Arena, playing from the game disc you can't skip enemy introductions until they announce the enemy and are about to show his crest, with the game image on the hard drive you can skip these introductions when they begin. So you might think the game is just a stickler for the little intros when it's really that it's loading up the fight just like in Yakuza 1, playing on the HDloader will save you lots of time
If you really want to do the 100% food and drink the best thing to do seems to be dates. If you get taken out as a host you don't need to pay, if you take out a hostess you do need to pay. Though it lets you order all the food in the store and get XP and credit for them, rather than being able to eat one meal once in awhile. I haven't found a trick for drinking, besides persistence. As for the mission completion there are really dumb things that will only mark a thing as "finished" rather than complete, like lying to a guy about liking his music, I'm not sure if this fucks up my chances for a laser sword, but I'll be pretty miffed if so.
From playing so far I've gotten the impression that you'll be allowed to travel between Osaka and Tokyo at one point, but I'm still kind of annoyed that the game dumped me out of Osaka without much warning. The game does set you up against some real fucking tough opponents in certain quests. The best thing is to always have at least three of those stamina things in your inventory, even if you never need them. |
