| Did you bring Fawkes with you? That's what really ruined it for me. I've got a RADIOACTIVE PROOF FRIEND, who won't solve my end game crisis because it would have meant more than a dark force/light force choice. I tried to take a picture of his horrible justification, but it wouldn't work. Just some dumb shit about my destiny, so my guy has to die when this guy could just do it and not die cuz of my destiny(the ending cinematic).
The Enclave president was equally horrible, since it was just a rip off of The Master encounter from FO1, except devoid of enough creativity to fall back on the logical contradiction shit from Star Trek TOS. They almost force you to take the dumb FEV vaccine just so you have two stupid binary choices for the ending. Lots of the choices fell flat, getting ghouls into tenpenny towers just results in one of the ghouls murdering everyone anyway, and killing him still loses you karma, since he was originally flagged as a karma loss kill. There's lots of cool shit in there too, which I really enjoyed. I think they could have gone further with lots of things like the little virtual world, but it seems like they blew their wad on everything BUT the main story. Even by Morrowind and Oblivion standards it's a weak main story, I'm really surprised by that. |
