Lovie Smith: Did alright with the hand he was dealt. Without a high-speed QB carousel next season, I could see the Bears making a playoff push, especially if Brett Favre Brett Favre BRETT FAVRE retires to chill out with his cancerous wife. I think Tice has blown his load, but that crazy dago in Detroit might be able to conjure up some wins if his receiving corps can stay healthy. Regardless, the Bears' defense is not one I'd like to play against, especially in December at very-fruitily renovated Solder Field. Agreed. I don't get Chicago. They insist on hiring former DC's as head coaches, then get mad when the offense underperforms. He ought to hire Mike Martz as his OC next season, after the Rams fire him.

Denny Green: I don't follow the NFC West, but I've heard that the Cards have won a few games this year, even a few that weren't spoiler games against imploding teams at the end of the season. I still don't know what McCown did to get benched, but it seems the fire under his ass got him to play a bit better. With rumors of all three other NFC West coaches being in the hot seat to some degree, Green seemingly has nowhere to go but up. It's a tough deal, there. Just think, if McCown had stayed in and won at least a couple of those games that King and Navarre could not, the Cardinals would have easily taken the division. The most I've heard is that Green was unhappy with McCown's preparation. Yeah, that sounds like Coach Ego at work. OTOH, the chance that they could have won - and might still - is because this division blows. Was I right or what? :(

Mike Mularky: I don't know if I spelled his name right, and I don't know much about this guy either. Making a playoff push after going like what, 0-4 or something?, in same division as two other playoff contenders is nothing to sneeze at. Mularkey. No, that's his name, sorry. He's the former OC for Pittsburgh, which means a little, I guess. I never thought his schemes were all that QB-friendly or at least, QB-flexible. Thus, it took Bledsoe awhile to conform to Mike's schemes and he really needed the help from McGahee to open it up. Strong finished typically bode well for NFL teams, so if they can sneak into the playoffs, that's a very positive note for next season. Buffalo has the tools.

Jim Mora (Jr.): Now has the highest paid player in all of the NFL on his team. Yeah. Blank, the owner, is weird. Vick loses a game, and he goes down to the sidelines to joke with him about it. All smiles when you lose a game is not a blueprint for winning more games.

Gruden will likely flail around in Tampa for a few more year while the Saints will continue to be the Saints (sorry Jonsey :( ), leaving the Panthers as their main competition through the next few seasons. How many times will I have to hear how long it takes to learn the West Coast Offense in the next 2-3 years? Way too many. They dumbed it down, anyway, so he should be better next season. What I'm tired of, is every announcer screaming "Why are they making him stay in the pocket?" The same reason a RB that can catch balls in the flat takes handoffs.

Tom Coughlin: Fines his players for not being early enough. That shit might fly when you're winning games, but not when your team is right back to where it was before you arrived (hint: Chokesville). Benching Warner for Manning will likely be the most overanalyzed coaching move during the off-season, but rightfully so considering Warner had a winning record when he got demoted and the rest of the NFC (particularly division rivals Dallas and Washington) blew goats. I'm not into defending anything Coughlin does, but Dennis Green's move may trump that. It's a tie, let's say. And ICJ won't take a swing at you. He's the first to admit the Saints are eevr thus the Saints, just like I'll be the first to tell you the Niners are the worst team in the NFL, and have the best chance of remaining so.

Joe Gibbs: My ex-roommate is a huge faggy Redskins fan. I remember that during my fantasy draft he talked a ton of shit about how overrated the Eagles' defense was and how Joe Gibbs would masterbate onto the game ball before kickoff instilling his winning seed right where it counts. Okay, he didn't say the last part, but the Redskins still suck on offense which makes me happy about ex-roomie's suffering. The only pro-bowl player on their team: ex-Colt Marcus Washington. The Eagles' D isn't overrated. But don't sell the Skins short: they have some very good players on that team.

Erickson? No, wait. Turner: I probably can't say much about this guy without Bill correcting me, so hopefully this will bait him into posting something much more insightful about the NFL. Erickson just seems like a rookie, this is his second year. I hope to hel he leaves or gets fired. There's talk of Holmgren coming over. Turner, I don't hate yet. He needs to find a better DC.
