My car came with a 6-disc changer, which cuts down on how many times I have to swap CDs, but it still annoys the shit out of me! I have a stack of CDs inside my car because of how fickle I am over what I want to listen to.
the point of my recommendation is really the USB drive support. I assumed you had a drive already lying around, ready to be plied into service.
I don't. :( My workplace supplies me with one so I've been using that for all my data transfers, and a new stereo + usb drive seemed like a long way to go for digital convenience. Plus, if I ever get rich enough to be as fickle with cars as I am CDs, I don't want to uninstall/reinstall a stereo. But now I'm just making up excuses.
One CD of MP3s fits 10 albums, but fine,
Digital is the future! I am done with CDs. I wouldn't even buy games from a store anymore if I could download all of them. In fact, I'll buy it on Steam before I buy it from a store. I am patiently waiting for Sony, MS, and Nintendo to expand their online stores to host EVERY game. And for Nintendo to support a fucking hard drive.
And Amazon has won me in the piracy war. I used to pirate everything because I had no money. Then I got a job, and I started buying CDs from the store because it was faster to make a 5 minute drive than to spend a million years using Soulseek. Now, I can get an album for $8.99, no DRM, and in a few minutes from Amazon! I'm legally buying things because I find it MORE convenient than stealing it! (If I were still in college with no money, though, I'd pirate the fuck out of everything). This is how you beat piracy! Make stuff easy to find, and then get it to me faster and affordably cheap! Fuck, I'd buy a Kindle if I didn't hate the design so much. |
