When Lee was giving his speech about how powerless he felt, I expected him to say "What can I do? I'm only one man... one pilot, lawyer, president... man." And then announce that he was going to try terraforming Earth because by the way he took some terraforming courses on Virgon. He didn't say that. Instead he gave a powerful speech to the fleet and everyone loved him, and while even Commander Adama was a drunken wreck over all the events, Lee was all NO I'M FINE THANKS like a nerd at a party. It must be hard being perfect all the time.
Anywayz, I'm pretty sick of all the misdirection going on with the final Cylon, especially now that I can barely remember all the tiny details from two years ago or whenever the first half of the season aired. If I'm understanding things correctly, and it's true that Earth was all Cylon, this means that back on Kobol, over 3600 years ago, humans invented Cylons. Then 3600 years later, humans, having forgotten that already happened, invented Cylons again? And then both strains of toaster-era Cylon developed their own skin models, independent of each other? I guess that's possible... ugh.
And for the big payoff Earth episode I sure would've like to have seen more post-apocalypse Cylon Earth investigation instead of everyone digging through one pebbly Vancouver beach.
On the plus side at least a lot of things happened in this episode, and a complete absence of Baltar Christ's cult. |
