From now on, people not linking to the criminally awesome FILERUSH for files will get the stink eye from me, and then GameFAQS editor Bethany is going to bitch you out. I downloaded the PainKiller multiplayer demo from FileRush last week and got 350 K/sec at one point. I didn't even know cable modems went that fast. For kicks I checked out the FilePlanet link and saw hundreds of suckers waiting over 2 hours for their download spot. I got to experience Painkiller's totally boring deathmatch multiplayer and weird movement physics hours before those losers.

Use FileRush you fucking fucks.

Onto the changes of this BFV patch:

OH-6 Loach is a scout helicopter used by the USMarines. It's fast and agile, armed with chain guns and can be used to spot for artillery strikes.

Ka-25 'Hormone' is an attack helicopter used by the NVA. It carries chain guns and heat seeking missiles, and also benefits from the addition of radar in the nose.
Ahhhh, that's exactly what I thought was missing in Battlefield Vietnam. Helicopters! I look forward to getting base raped by an entirely new set off call letters.

3d map now shows friendly mines, traps, explosives, ammo boxes, and medical cabinets. These icons fade in as the player approaches.
This is awesome, unsarcastically. I can't count the number of times I've forgotten which identical mud hut holds my life-giving bandages and which holds my death-giving SA-7 rockets.

Jeep top speed and torque increased.
American Chopper and Monster Garage are having a widespread impact on our culture.

MUTT tow rocket changed to a heat seeker. Reload time increased, ammo count decreased.

Cobra heatseeker rate of fire decreased.

Increased destabilization of Cobra when no driver, making it harder to switch to the 2nd position to fire heatseekers.

Slightly reduced Cobra hitpoints.

M60 damage vs. helicopters increased.

LAW and RPG damage vs. helicopters significantly increased.
Loving all this. Did you know manning the slicks on a chopper had a death rate second only do the dudes who had to clean out the NVA tunnels? You wouldn't know it from Battlefield Vietnam where choppers routinely terrorize entire maps.

Falling damage when going down stairs reduced.
WOW! I hope they didn't reduce the falling damage of GOING DOWN STAIRS too much!

I really warmed up to BFV and now I play it almost every night. I'm still not great, as I didn't play BF1942 at all, so I'm like the kid who moved into your school from Estonia and you're all great friends and you're passing tests and popping wheelies after school and I'm all "How do you work the artillery?" and then someone makes fun of me.

Actually we had like so many thousand casualties, and they had over a million casualties. Lots of wins and stuff, and by numbers it would pretty much be a victory. But instead we left.

The victory condition was preventing Vietnam from falling to communism: failed. You goddamn death-matchers who value the individual kills over the team victory...
