Me and Juh-heh both immediatly described the level of talent displayed by Picard as "PHONED IN." He clearly didn't do anymore than simply get the lines on tape quickly, collect his check, and moveon.org
Which is a shame (considering that the game being about half as good as Elite Force 1 is still *RELATIVLY* enjoyable and well made despite not being a Raven product, is still worth playing). I can just imagine the dissapointment of the devs or whoever worked with Stewurt pleading (whining) that "I know this isn't a glamorous role for you and we aren't really giving you much to work with but really if you just put a LITTLE BIT of effort into this we would all be happier especially the nerdy gamers who simply want a tolerable Star Trek video game and couldn't care less if you are in it, please don't make them wish you had not been in this game" all to the chagrin of the people trying to make a fun game. If it wasn't for the rest of the Elite Force cast (and Tim Russ as an extremely effective Tuvok) then the whole concept of putting cinima scenes in the game to try and replicate [tee hee] an episode or Trek movie feel, the devs would have been better off trying for a Half-Life-main-character type approach to story telling.
And fuck man, they had Picard show up basically every other mission to unconvincingly tell you how the death of ensign redshirt was so meaningful which despite his flat delivery makes it seem pointless EVEN THO IN THE GAME WHATSHISNAMES GONZALES DEATH IS ACTUALLY FAIRLY EFFECTIVE FOR A STAR TREACLE STORY or how we need to study the mass produced alien cannon fodder to find signs of sentience (PUKE). |
