I'm still confused by the battery thing
They put in upgrades for more max batteries and faster recharge time, then have the mechanics make both completely useless. Batteries will recharge if you partially drain them, but are dead forever once fully drained until you come across a granola bar. Would the game really have been unbalanced if you naturally recharged all batteries beyond the first one? That's what always drove me crazy about the Deus Ex games. They have one or two areas in the entire game with an overwhelming number of enemies then mark them off as "You're not seriously expected to fight this." The Paul ambush and MJ12 base in the original game. The crash site in HR. Bitch, those moments should be standard in the last third of the game. Let me tear into that shit and give me full recharging batteries to do it with. Nothing is worse than when an action game turns into a long term resource management sim. Instead of making me wonder if the game is going to give me enough resources to make my way piecemeal through cannon fodder gradually wearing me down, set up huge difficult obstacles that are a challenge to my naturally regenerating resources.
