| Wow! A shock jock actually shocked me! I had heard of this guy back in the days when he was fired for saying that a gay caller should get AIDS and die, but seeing as you'll spot talk like this on an internet forum every day, I expected to be unshocked while listening to his radio show yesterday. But he did it, he shocked me through old fashioned racism. Not the creative and fun racism that I employ, but the classic dumb type where you just jump to a conclusion.
The entire show is this: [ANECDOTE] = ([immigrant group] [or] Liberals) are undermining America and they hate you because you're white. An example is Savage reading news from around the world, and he gets to this story of three asian gang members beating up an off-duty cop. After summarizing the report he then says in the voice that Homer Simpsons uses when he's trying to be sarcastic, "WELL I THOUGHT ASIAN PEOPLE WERE PEACE LOVING! I THOUGHT THEY WERE ALL JUST HERE TO RAISE FAMILIES AND WORK AT THEIR JOBS! AREN'T WE TOLD THAT ONLY WHITE PEOPLE ARE IN GANGS? THIS ARTICLE MUST BE WRONG! PSH!!!" ...and on it goes, reading items from the news and then getting angry that the liberal media doesn't do enough to get the word out about immigrants committing crimes (what with all the liberal media stories about white gangs and such). Remember that he's reading these stories from press clippings. Anyway, lots of great material there, or in his book where he writes that "The future of America hangs in the balance like a loose tooth" (with a gun for a mouth), but I realized I'm 5 years too late on this. Who listens to talk radio, anyway? Music haters? |
