Ever get the feeling the people who design retail packaging are mocking you? by Jerry Whorebach 09/29/2009, 9:33am PDT On the front of my twenty-pack of men's socks is an arrow pointing to the ziploc strip with the words "WOW! RECLOSEABLE BAG". I don't know which intimation is more insulting: that I've never seen a ziploc bag before or that I should be amazed by the prospect. Aside from the obvious marketing angle, I'm not even sure why a bag of socks needs to be resealable. For freshness? Come on, everybody knows you keep your socks in a coffee can in the freezer. That's just common sense.
