ICJ, pleast sticky this thread.
I have taken Ice Cream Jonesy up on his offer of being the moderator of this website. I have been the mod for a few different websites and I think I bring a clean, understated style of management to forums that are in desperate need of it. This is one such forum.
I will be requesting edits for the following:
** Low-content posting.
** Poor spelling and punctuation
** Obvious trolling (post better).
I will be requesting bans for the following:
**** Continued trolling. There is no need for this. We all know when it is being done, and I'll be requesting bans for those who do it anyway. Repeat offenders, etc.
**** Thread shitting. This includes threads that descend into stupidity, whe the main thread is still going on.
**** Thread resurrection, repeatedily. Nobody wants to read old threads. If a thread is more than a few weeks old, do not bump it.
And I will be requesting permabans for:
*** Egregious rule breaking.
*** Backtalk to the moderation team. We work hard enough to keep the forum clean. This has proven to work on a NUMBER of other forums. It's pretty much a given. "Sass" the mods? Permaban.
*** Spamming. There is no place for it. Dont suspect this will affect any of the regulars.
80% of Caltrops is good, but the other part is really terrible and would benefit from what I shall be requesting. I know I am new, but hopefully when you see how I decide to mod the site, you'll agree that I can just do it directly against posts. I won't edit snotty things inside a post. I saw in that one thread how people used to do that here and I agree ther eis no place for it.
