There's a creepy guy in Colorado texting numbers out of the blue by Ice Cream Jonsey 10/25/2011, 10:13pm PDT
The other day I got a text message from an unknown number. In the past when I have received such texts, some teenager is trying to figure out why I was texting her man. It's not me, baby! It's not me.

This was different. Here was the content of the text:

Hi. ( $FoRmZ$)

Now, imagine you get that text as you are tied to your office chair, at the half-cubicle you get to work within. Intriguing! It breaks up the monotony. I typed the phone number into Google and found that our texter here has quite the reputation on-line.

He just texted me and said hi. When I asked who it was he said john and asked for my name. I said, "You really should know that if you're texting me". He said sorry to bother, have a good day and stopped. My fried called his number and his voicemail really says john. Wouldn't be surprised if he really did just "think up" my number. Weird.

My son received a text same as above. He texted back and asked who this person was and he said 'John' and that he had a wrong number. The next evening my phone received a text stating 'Hi. ' as well. I did not reply. No further texts at this point.

he texted me hi. i replied with, "And you are?" then he said, "John, what is your name?" I responded with, "John who?" Then he said, "My bad, I must have dialed the wrong number."

Got this John creep tonight with the same messages. Tempted to text the address of this page back but didn't respond. He's just fishing, trying to get laid, probably happens every weekend. He lives in or near Denver, don't have his wireless company yet. He's been at it a while, the noose is prob tightening.

Interesting. I can confirm that his area code is in Colorado.

I kept wondering what the "$FoRmZ$" thing meant. I found on another site that he's used a different "tag" (for lack of a better term) when texting people.

Just received two identical text messages from this number:

Hi. (~S2Fmly&frnds~

Does he use different tags for different people? You can't actually use Google to search any more, so my tag won't come up. However, he's used S2Fmly&frnds a few different times.

The last things I saw was apparently where he works. Some people have been calling him back at other times and getting more info.

This John fellow says that he works out of a place called Pro Mold in Berthoud CO. Here's the number to his work (970) 532-2766

It's interesting. He's been doing this for over two years. It seems, based on some other comments, that he will text an entire family at around the same time. Odd, if he's really just "thinking up" the numbers. Is it just a guy trying to hook up? Is there something else going on here?

Oh, of course I meant to give you his number, Caltrops. It's (720) 621-5411.
