The Big Bang Theory Sucks Again. Twice by Tansin A. Darcos (TDARCOS) 03/15/2012, 1:54am PDT
I don't watch The Big Bang Theory for reasons I've described in an earlier article; I think the humor doesn't work most of the time.

I was at the laundromat today doing my clothes and that was what was on TV. Since I had nothing better to do, I decided to give it another chance. It opened with a bunch of the geeks trying to catch a meteor shower and were out in the wilderness, excepting that they used their knowledge of science to tap into a satellite transponder and watch HBO. Meanwhile, one of the other guys who didn't want to go is at home doing some research report. Both groups - the guys in the wilderness and the guy at home - marvel at how they got the better of the situation than the others.

At some point someone's eating cookies. I mention this because I'll get back to this later.

Now, one of the male characters is in the hallway and can hear Penny (if I hadn't read a reference to the show I wouldn't have known her name, except she's the leading female character that every male on the show wants to bang) who is crying out for help. She convinces the guy to come in to the bathroom where she is notwithstanding the fact (as he presumes it) that she'll be naked since she fell while taking a shower.

Despite the fact (as is disclosed later) she can't move because she dislocated a shoulder and is lying on the bottom of the tub, she is completely covered by a towel. I don't know about you, but most people do not shower with a towel, they shower naked and get the towel off the rack outside of the shower.

Well, anyway, then she gets to the point of explaining she needs to have him take her to the hospital. He - in technical terms - admits this is a good idea since she has a dislocated shoulder. Only he can't drive. She can't drive either in view of the injury. And so they're arguing back and forth about how she's going to get to the hospital.

I got so mad at the stupidity I said to the TV, "That's what fucking 9-1-1 is for, you stupid bitch! If you can't get help you call for a goddam ambulance!" She's in an apartment in an apartment building, presumably in a city that would have a functioning EMS/Ambulance system that can be summoned by dialing 9-1-1 on a landline or cell phone.

Then I realized I wasn't at home, I was in a public place; and if I had been at home I'd have changed the channel as soon as it came on.

I got so disgusted by this, plus the scene showing someone eating cookies had made me want one, that I left the laundromat, rolled over to CVS and bought a bottle of milk and some cookies.

But what got me was, not one, but two stupid points.

It would have made more sense for the first scene if he either tries to cover his eyes because she's naked and we see her with the important parts fuzzed out until he can give her a towel, or he goes into the room and she tells him to toss her a towel, then the camera goes into the room.

And if you have an injury and can't go or can't get someone to take you, that's what 9-1-1 is for, and if you're too stupid to know this maybe you should hurry up and die or commit suicide before you have the opportunity to breed and spread your sub-moronic intelligence level into the gene pool.
