I have problems with my right wrist and don't have a lot of strength there. So I use my left hand a lot, but even at that I notice more-and-more that soda bottles, glass or plastic jars with lids (pickle bottles, bottles of fruit, dip for chips, spaghetti sauce, etc.) are all harder and harder to open than ever before. It can be a fucking nightmare trying to just open a goddam bottle of Mountain Dew. Sometimes the bottles get shaken or otherwise increased in pressure from shipping and movement, and so this makes the lid even tighter.
I mean, it's one thing to make sure bottles are sealed properly so you know they haven't been tampered with, but how about packaging containers that don't require a fire hydrant wrench to open!
Now, let me ask the audience here of cretinous reprobates err, I mean, fine upstanding citizens, what is your take on this matter?
It seems like bottles and jars are secured with even more difficult to open seals that are bordering on requiring tools to open them. In fact, I'm going to go visit the Home Depot on Rhode Island Avenue in Washington, DC and see if they have some sort of tool like a wrench that can be used on bottles and jars. (I had something like this once but it wasn't very good; it was made of plastic and I think the handle cracked.) |
