normally I bunch them together but here they are ranked
3rd worst: video game journalists. not good at playing games, not good at writing, no understanding of hardware or software or game design in any media or even the basic tools of like arithmetic or stats to talk about wtf they're covering. openly anti-customer smuggo shitheels whose entire field is funded 100% by the industry they cover, only possible career path is to conduct themselves as an open pr shill for that industry in the hope they latch on with one of those companies someday. should be stuck in a room with the rest of the greasy testers and forced to play an alternating cycle of only madden 20xx, call of duty single player, and the most boring stretches of half life 2 in one hour increments forever.
2nd worst: sports journalists. laziest of all possible journalists, somehow scraped through journalism degree with a c average despite it being everyone else's fallback degree when prelaw didn't work out. basically some drunken old childless grandpa aged storyteller hacks whose carefully tuned mix of tedious racism and lack of basic skepticism or reasoning capability makes them the jim davis' garfield on a page full of numbers they can never hope to grasp. should be stripped of all communication devices and penned up on the farm from field of dreams.
worst by dint of "this bullshit might actually do material damage to people" is political journalists: they combine the total ineptitude and pr shilling of video game journalists with the utter sloth, racism, innumaracy, illogic and lack of skepticism of sports journalists into the voltron of wasting ink. instead of getting $200k a year jobs with some nice speaking engagements on the side and the feigned respect of literally any other person, their reprinting of press releases as fact and weakly twisted logic in support of immoral abuses of power should be, at this point in history, capital crimes. |
