I remember some people here once mentioned their experience as editors. Is there anything I should know before guiding myself towards this industry, or should it be avoided like the fucking plague? I'd expect a tedious gauntlet to get anywhere, but I'm used to mundane work, and years spent proofing wouldn't seem pointless if I knew that editing can be as interesting as it sounds.
Would the 9 month editing course an English lecturer recommended help somewhat, or should I just stop dicking around and pimp myself to Allen & Unwin? |
