No, those are actual events. The OPINION was 'Japan deserved it.'

I don't have the puking-soup problem. Are you sure you're not
confusing anime with, say, bulemia?

Not necessarily. There are things Japanese I do not immediately
adore. It could be like the whole cherry blossom thing.

I don't feel that I'm a fat failure. You are free to disagree. The
'lesson' from Big Fat Greek Wedding was that 'women over thirty who
are not married are failures', just in case you haven't seen the
movie.

I am not claiming that anime is "vastly superior in every way" to
any other form of light entertainment. You did make that claim for
"American movies", so I picked one that I'd seen recently. I even
picked one that was not a failure the box office. If "American
movies" are so damn stellar, a recent popular one ought to be just
chock-full of that vast superiority I keep hearing about, right? It
wasn't. I found it patronizing, racist, and annoyingly predictable.

Nah, it was just a list of possible 'lessons' about humanity and the
uplifting dramatic storytelling that I'm supposed to get out of the
vastly superior American movies on the market today. If it's
'flabby, fat, and smelling-of-foot', then maybe you should take
another look at American movies.

I'll try to stick to short, declarative sentences. If it worked for
Hemingway, it can work for me.

It could also be because I live completely debt free, hold public
office (borough council member), operate a 250k a year business,
enjoy productive leisure activities, and generally avoid
pestering strangers to bolster my self-esteem.

I'm impressed with that non-sequitor. It totally fails to address
any of the points I made in the paragraph immediately preceding it.
You don't see craftsmanship like that very often these days!
