In about a week: The regs make up and promise to be nice and stuff, as long as SB promises not to be a retard all the time or at least keep it to a bunch of boring, extremely long-winded e/n type posts. Everyone agrees, people are happy. Except SB, who's never really happy about anything, and also declines to apologize for being just so fucking bipolar (i.e. going between untrustworthy and emotionally threadbare) all the time. People ignore that and move on, wanting to just continue normal Caltrops activity instead of all the kneejerk pussying out reactions regarding trolls.
One day after that: Someone (perhaps a lurker or someone trolled by a review) posts, saying YOU PEOPLE ARE FAGS. INC replies, agreeing. SB flips out, half-chewed pills spraying onto his monitor. He makes 30 threads about how they should be banned once and for all, and threatens to give out their IPs to hackers, optionally revealing their phone numbers and/or home addresses. ES gets bitched up by SB's whining and bans/deletes anything that moves.
Five seconds after that: People start screaming at each other again, furiously, saying that there shouldn't be admins and the site needs an administrative overhaul before it turns into Chet-o-Rama 2003. People leave in disgust.
A year later: ES and SB (and v) romp happily in their totally clean, exclusive new Caltrops boards. No one else posts but them. Mostly because in order to post, you'd have to wade through about 50,000 threads about what someone's cat did that day. Didcotmassif finally shows up, but leaves after reading one post, thinking, "iT jUSt isN'T tHe SamE." Then they shoot Old Yeller and everyone cries. |
