Entertainment Horizon: the line between reality and parody by Zsenicorpse 11/06/2006, 9:33am PST
Blurred first by The Onion, then The Daily Show, now all of the world wishes for you to question its validity. This is a website for water aficionados.

The totally unreal writeups/"articles" are piss-shiveringly stupid:

"The temperature spectrum in language is highly reminiscent of the color spectrum. In both instances our language provides means for referring to certain areas of an objective physical scale. There are no strict boundaries; red gradually merges into blue and on to green in the same way as hot merges into warm and on into cold." This is a website about bottled water.

"So what is the right temperature to drink water? The answer lies somewhere in the spectrum between cold and hot."

"Curiously, 55°F is also the temperature of many springs or wells. It is not entirely surprising as the temperature of an underground cellar should be close to the surrounding temperature of the geological environment."

"There is an Italian Sommelier Association, and in the introduction to one of their manuals, the following quote is provided: "tasting is an intelligent act that requires an aptitude, preparation and memory". Now, of course that manual is speaking of wine - but no doubt the same principals hold true with water tasting."

"More Than Two Types of Bottled Water in Restaurants

The water enthusiasts at FineWaters believe that as bottled water grows in popularity, fine restaurants will begin to recognize the need for maintaining a stock of one of each kind of water. After all, diners will want to select the appropriate waters for their food choices."

"The saltiness of the caviar requires a water with a low TDS and a FineWaters Balance | Still or Effervescent. Very important is also the presentation of the water. Upgrade your water glasses and don't put a generic PET (plastic) bottle next to a tin of Caviar as it just looks rediculus and deflates the whole epicurian experience. If the water you would like to drink only comes in a plastic bottle - decant." It's the kiss of death. Don't put that cheap shit plastic out there when you're pairing caviar and water

The right water for your hangover.

In related news, Blingh2o.

In INC's world, all this shit is perfectly normal, so expect him to slop his tired old bones around here for another round of "putting from the rough, sweetie?" and "you're so poor, you probably eat ice cream." These little remarks are his way of keeping me updated on his disgust with the middle class in general and me in particular while keeping that fine cool edge of urbanity that life in LA demands. Then he'll buy a $300 bottle of Blingh2o with his wife's name engraved on it and cellar it. ("That stuff is expensive, honey! You can't just drink it!")
