You bought it for NFL2K5.
I bought it for NFL2K5. Years ago, I lived with my little brother, and we each brought a television set to the townhouse in Fort Collins. I harvested a sort of crude "entertainment center" from a pile of garbage left out by other people in the complex, saving it from being lit on fire and destroyed by college students. The "center" positioned our two TVs nicely. Nobody anywhere near us followed the Broncos, so friends would come over and we'd catch the Saints, Seahawks and Bills on the two televisions, thanks to the staggering of morning and afternoon games. Unfortunately, even in 2004 & 2005, the NFL was way too fucking commercial-filled to just sit there and take it, so if there was only one game we cared about on, we'd play NFL2K5 on the other TV. I bought the multitap, and we had four, but usually three people playing. Because fights would break out if any of us tried playing each other, we drafted a new team and each took different players on offense and defense. Minority Report had just been released (tagline: Everybody Runs) and Columbia House sent it to my brother as part of their Movie Club, thinking he would then pay them for the movie. Anyway, our theme for that season was "everybody runs," meaning, three guys would try to open holes along the offensive line so that the other guy could run unscathed. NFL2K5 had a satisfying dive-blocking system. Pancaking the computer was pleasurable. Anyway. that is the only known instance of someone using and enjoying the PS2 multitap. Maybe someone played Blast Corps with it, I don't fucking know. The entertainment center was later thrown over the balcony by my ex-girlfriend (where it disintegrated) when I was out of town for a wedding. ICJ
