Red Faction: Guerilla First Impressions (It's fucking awesome)
[quote name="Fortinbras"]- Uniform Scrap Metal-based system of upgrades for weapons and crap, unlike Mercenaries 2 where you had to do bizarre shit like jump through ten flaming hoops in a monster truck and print out a GameFAQ in order to buy the best airstrikes and buy the custom rides. Destroying almost any building will reward you scrap, further incentivizing mayhem. - Buildings collapse real good. I stupidly decided to smash out the supports from a building with my sledgehammer while underneath it, and was promptly crushed flat by the second story. Good times! - Enemies are not total retards and you will be quickly surrounded if you linger at the place where you just blew up a fucking building. I blew up a mission objective at random while I was just cruising around, and by the time I crawled out of the rubble there were two APC's and about ten guys on the highway down the hill all wanting to shoot me in the ass. There's an "Alert Level" thing that determines how fast they arrive to come Rodney King and you can't save while it's at red. - You can save anywhere! - Your dude looks pretty cool in a tan duster and wielding a sledgehammer. - Death Penalty beyond simply getting charged a stupidly modest fee. Every time you're killed the partisan revolt-meter in the region goes down a few points, and since the objective is to get that meter to 100 so that the people basically riot in the streets by blowing a bunch of shit up, it does at least incentivize you not to go kamikaze on every run.
