You're right about combat in hard mode
I had things click for me on medium later in the game, but not as much as they are on hard mode. It's way more fun. OH LOOK, ANOTHER REVIEW: Prince of Persia (2008) Ubisoft has a fantastic art team. This game is gorgeous when it's not the shitty dark world. In fact, they should have thought about scrapping the dark world altogether. The only new PoP game I've played was Sands of Time, and this game still has the same kind of on-rails parkour thing going on and it's impossible to die. Instead of a magic dagger, you have a magic woman. I don't think it really matters that you can't die, since I had to be saved so many times I'd have restarted about 50 times. It just kicks you back to the last platform you started vaulting off of, and that gets irritating enough. If I'd have had to go back to the main menu and start over I'd have never finished. I liked the combat system alright until bosses started getting QTEs. And then started chaining 4 QTEs in a row. One of the bosses almost turned the game into unsalvagable bullshit. It's a boss that was impossible to damage, so you had to push him off a cliff instead. You could be inches from the cliff, and then he'd launch into a million QTEs and by the time he was done you'd be back in the center of the platform you were fighting on. After the 8th time in a row this happened in a single fight I was about ready to rip my clothes off and shove a remote up my ass. And of course the game turns into a LURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRV story. See, he's the cocky arrogant ladies' man who don't care nothin about nobody, but it turns out he's really got a heart of gold under those big strong muscles and baby blue eyes. And she's a the beautiful, smart, and sensible princess, duty-bound to her kingdom but it has kept her cooped up while she secretly dreamed of travel and adventure. TOGETHER, THEY FIGHT CRIME. Oh, and they make sure to discuss she's still a virgin, so you know to pop the biggest boner possible. Also, just in case that one boss didn't ruin the game, the ending made sure to make up for it. I kind of feel cheated, because I was so pissed I wanted to quit but the game was already over.
